Raven Maniacs~The American Border Collie Association~Lack of Checks and Balances

As far as registries go, this one has definitely been remiss in its duties..  They have no system of checks and balances as far as their breeders go.  Since their inception in the 80's, they have been a member-owned registry.
But in reality, most of the members have no say so in how the association is run, and the registry is run by an "elite" few that run things as they see fit.  The Board of Directors has made it very comfortable for their friends, most of them AKC Breeders as well as the "elite" herding dog group.  Most of their monies are spent for herding trials and huge salaries for their few employees, most of whom have full-time jobs, too.
In the erstwhile, they have no method of checking up on breeders unless one of their member friends is complaining.  There is no unannouced kennel inspection of their members' breeding facilities, just as long as they keep those litter registrations coming in, they keep on living the high lives of the dog trialing world.
Recent exposures of huge Border Collie Mill operations have still not waked up the dummies sitting all day and all night on the Border Collie boards.
Jodi Darling works for the state of Idado, so how the heck does she have time to sit on that board all day long at the taxpayers' expense?
She never misses a puppymill bust, but her first dog, Jag, came from one, she bought it at 4 weeks old, and it arrived on the plane at that age, too.
Anyway, reading some of the comments about the ABCA's reponsibilities in these "oversights" about what is going on with their breeders, one has to chuckle.
"I am not trying to the throw the ABCA under the bus..." one of the members wrote.
At this point, I would say the ABCA is roadkill.
Heck.  Wake up!!  You are the ABCA.  You folks, the people sitting on that board need to get a grip and demand some changes or we are going to see this happening over and over.

I AM FURIOUS!!  The ABCA just sits and watches and lets the Humane Society of America pay to do all of their dirty work.  The ABCA targets certain breeders but allows others to go unchecked with their massive puppymills.  Right in Mount Pleasant, Texas there is a HUGE puppymill with THIRTY breeding females, litters of puppies always on the ground, but the ABCA has seemed to overlook ABOUT EWE BORDER COLLIES.  Who inspects this kennel?  Is it the dreaded AKC, the registry that the ABCA won't register dogs from?
GRETCHEN STAHL of STAHL'S BORDER COLLIES in Tennessee sells ABCA Border Collie Puppies yet she brags that she has one AKC inspection a year.
Get off your butts and make some reasonable requirements for your Border Collie Kennels.
Or are you afraid you can't use all of that puppy money to pay for those elite USBCHA herding trials????
WTF.  The ABCA is STILL REGISTERING DOGS AND PUPPIES FROM SANDSPRING BORDER COLLIES.
Perhaps this is because some influential breeders have purchased dogs and puppies from this man.
For instance, Alicia Barrett of RED DAWN BORDER COLLIES, http://www.reddawnborders.com/ancestors%20&%20relatives/ancestors.htm, proudly boasts of dogs and puppies from this man's lines as well as ABOUT EWE BORDER COLLIES, http://aboutewebordercollies.com/availablepuppies.html,
AMMONS BORDER COLLIES, http://www.ammonscowdogs.com/border_collie_parents.html,
BAND B BORDER COLLIES, http://www.bandbbordercollies.com/C%20Horse%20Cooper%20Pedigree.htm,
G-FORCE BORDER COLLIES, http://www.gforcebordercollies.com/
The last is the worst of all because she bought from Sandspring Border Collies, and sold for them, yet she posts the nasty comments about him on the Border Collie lists.

Confused because he has current ads on puppyfind. Or did a few days ago the pups look horrible but somebody is updating them???

Trish Boswell

This breeder is determined to knock out all of the healthy competition in the Border Collie World.

She even has a page for US dog trainers so the links will pull her site up in the google rankings.
How sad.  This is the breeder that bought the most dogs and puppies from John Wilson.
